Working for ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥

Work with us in a historical, prestigious and beautiful environment in the heart of Cambridge City Centre.

½ð½ÛÖ±²¥ is a wonderful community of students, Fellows and staff and we all play a part in supporting the student experience.

We are committed to the principles of equal opportunities, diversity and respect and want to be known as an employer that invests in its staff, recognising and rewarding them for their commitment.  We aim to ensure that staff are paid a fair salary and will continue to support staff through the current economic crisis.  One of the ways we do this is by paying all staff, including casuals at least the Real Living Wages which is currently £10.90 per hour.

½ð½ÛÖ±²¥ is also the greenest Cambridge College - we were the first college to win a Platinum Award for our overall environmental performance.

We offer a generous benefits package which typically includes:

  • Salaries which take into account market rates and individual skills and experience
  • Defined contribution pension scheme
  • Generous sick pay
  • Maternity and paternity benefits above statutory requirements
  • 34 days holiday (including bank holidays)
  • Healthcare cash plan scheme
  • Free staff lunch (when kitchens are open)
  • Non-contractual bonus scheme
  • Cycle to work scheme
  • Relocation Loan
  • Travel to Work Loan
  • Parking

Right to Work

If you are offered a position at ½ð½ÛÖ±²¥ there are certain checks that we have a legal legal responsibility to carry out and the most important one is ensuring that all our employees have the legal right to live and work in the UK. Therefore, if you attend for interview or are made an offer of employment, this will be subject to the College verifying that you are eligible to work in the UK before you start work.

1. If you are invited to interview:

If you are invited to interview, you will be asked to bring original documents from List A or List B (below) and a copy will be taken, or if you hold a 'digital immigration status', your  will be required to access this status online.

2. If you already have a ‘digital status’

If you already have a ‘digital status’, then you will need to raise a share code via this page: . You will need to send Sally Hewings sh435@cam.ac.uk the code and your date of birth, and we can then view your status online, prior to interview

3. If you cannot or have not provided evidence at interview stage:

If you cannot provide evidence of right to work in the UK at interview stage, this must be provided before you can take up employment with us. It is your legal responsibility to do so.
